Friendship

When I made this outfit I had one of my oldest friends in mind. It made me look back on our friendship and all its ups, the times when she inspired me not just with her stlye but with her personality. It made me wanna be a little more like her everyday. And up until now a little piece of me still does. We met in 7th grade and been kick'n it eva since. It was a time when we were once tighter then spandex but once we hit different schools we became different people in good and bad ways. Double Standards

Two double standards that stick out to me the most and tend to aggravate me are both dealing with the groups of men and women. The first is how men can have so many girls and cheat on his girl with this one and that one but get no penalty for it. I'm guessing we all agree that this is wrong? I'd hope so. But anyways why is that? Why is it that when a woman decides, "Hey I'm not ready to settle down, I enjoy having sex and things of this nature with any Tom, Dick, and Harry, that I'm just gonna go out and have a good time" its wrong? She's a whore or she's dirty? Now don't get me wrong I think it is totally unacceptable for people to be running around messing with this one and that one, whether your a man or woman its wrong. Now when women have a dude they could call just for sex or go out with their friends getting numbers left and right from men or when they know their gonna get some from a guy or he's got money so that Louis bag I saw last week is mine now cause he's gonna take me shopping you'd call her a gold digger or a hoe. Now if we were to change all the her's to him's and guys to girls the word that equals are description changes to playa. Now if you actually think that a boy cant be a whore your wrong. Along time ago men were classy and had one lady now a days boys have the same characteristics as females. They are catty, they talk alot and are just as jealous as we are. So when I hear my friends who are boys sit and laugh like "Oh yeah dude was wrong but he's a boy you know how we do" It blows my mind that you agree what boys do are wrong but refuse to admit that their hoes? I'd rather you be absolutely oblivious to the entire situation. The other double standard that kills me is the fact that gays are discriminated against like their not even human but lesbians get so much slack. The term homosexual means interested in the same sex, last time I checked lesbians are women who are attracted to other women. If I'm wrong let me know. I see it like this, the ability god gave mankind to love can be distributed from a man to a woman, a woman to a woman and a man to a man. I believe that we are all people and the same way I bleed you bleed. Who I love doesn't concern the rest of the world. If some one was to tell me liking boys was wrong and there's something wrong with me I'd feel so unwanted by the world too, that me and people like me are hated and if possible could be voted off this little island we called the world any day now. Everyone has their own personal beliefs and if being homosexual is something you disagree with then fine that's your opinion, but at the end of the day its about respect. That's something alot of the world doesn't have. If we all respected each other then things would be okay. But I'm off the topic lesbianans and gays are equal to me and I think the reason they get different standards are because its a man's world, except in this situation men are being looked down on. Men are "suppose" to be strong masculine and have a woman on his arm not a man by his side. In this society men have the upper hand on things and its okay to be a lesbian because to them its "sexy" for two women to kiss and show affection, it turns them on but two men being together brings them disgust and because that thought has poisoned alot of societies brain its acceptable to think this way. All I can say is if it was the other way around how would you feel?

Im So Over It

Im tired of people calling me HEARTLESS. Just because I dont cry for everything like alot of people do. I just dont see the point in crying over the dumbest shit. Like when people cry only because someone else is crying. WTF nothings wrong with you say your sorry for them or whatever the case may be and get the fuck over it. I dont cry, last time I cried was when my grandmother died and that was a year ago. Im a very nice person but dont expect me to like everyone and like everything you do, because I keep it real Im mean. OMG im sick of it. People ask for friends like me in their lives but they cant really handle it. Me being this way dosent mean that I dont care about anyone or anything. I have feelings like everyone else, I hurt, I get sad and other emotions do exsist inside of me. Im not a baby im a grown ass person who knows how to deal with things in a grown up way. I dont always get my way and things sometime dont work out the way I plan, it may be dissapointing but life goes on. I show my affection for people in a different way than others. Just because Im not mushy or all on top of my boyfriend in the public eye dosent mean Im mean or dont care about him. Dont get me wrong I support public affection (to a certaint extent) but what I do with my man is me and my mans business. I tell my boyfriend I love him when necessary. That seems harsh but what people dont understand is that Ive been with him a very long time and saying I love him is for him so trust me he knows. I can look at him or just laugh at his corny jokes and he knows that I love him, he knows that at the end of the day its me and him, that nothing else matters. We're in an authentic relationship, somehing real. Yes REAL. We're not one of those little fake ass couples who been together nine months and say "Oh, we are so madly in love ima be with this boy forever!!!" and then break up 2 weeks later. Ive been with him through THICK (and I mean Thick as the country ass woods thick) and the thin for 4 years and I give my all to this boy. When asked do I love my mom I say "she's coo". LoL that I can admit does sound a little mean but serious tip YES I do love my mother but my way of showing her that I love her is not acting like she's my super hero..."Oh I love my mommy" like some 5 year old kid. The woman isn't perfect and I dont like everything she does, so yes I love her, but that dosen't mean I have to say it everyday. If you really know me then you know that I give 100% if Im really down for you and when you need me Im there, I may not cry with you but I'll whipe your tears. Im always the mother figure and good friend that gets taken advantage of so if your tryna find a reason for my ways, there you go. I do get tierd of being the tough mean one but thats just the way it is. I will NOT compromise me as a person for the likes of others, you can Ba-Lee-Dat.

When I hear a song I focus 1st and formost on the words, the rhyming and the passion you feel when those words leaves the artist lips. Music to me is an addiction I would never hide from the world. Like a true addict I know pure substance from smack. Listening to music puts me on a high like no other. I love acapella!!! It makes me weak. Beats do alot for a song (producers dont get me wrong) but its the lyrics you get stuck in your head the flow the rapper or vocalist has that makes you feel weak when their song comes through your head phones or the speakers of your radio. Some lyrics that make me get that high feeling are ones from Neyo (ex. Looking for perfect surounded by artifical your the closest thing to real i see). You cant tell me that isnt deep!!! Point blank Music is my everything, Its all Ive ever wanted...

Family

I just finished reading isis's blog on family and it made me want to share my opinion on what a family really is. To me a family is your "immediate family". Its the ones you are actually closest to and see all the time. For some that may be their mom, dad, brothers and sisters including a grandma, grandpa, cousins, aunts uncles nieces etc. To others it may be just mom or just dad along with siblings or maybe a step parent has entered the picture, your mom or dads boyfriend/girlfriend. Who ever those people are that is your family. In my own personal life my family consist of me, my mom, my grandmother and my three aunts. I know your probably wondering dont I have a father in my life any siblings, cousins or step parents? Well I do. Based on what others call a family, mine is pretty big but to me all those other people dont count in this situation. You have a house hold unit which is you true family. I have a cousin that i am very close to and love very much. She is like a sister to me and yes we are family but technically she has her own family (Her house hold unit). I have a father who i am close to, he didnt abandon me or just stop calling he's far from a dead beat dad but he has his own family whose house hold unit consist of a son, a wife, a step son and other relatives im not to sure who they would be. The catergorey I put the distant cousins, aunts, uncles and brothers and sisters youve never met in are what they literaly are, relatives. These are the people yu are related to and you have a match some where down the line in DNA. If it came down to it most likely they would be no where around. I believe the most important part of a family unit are the siblings. Brothers and sisters are the joy and pain, the true memories of your childhood. Your siblings are the ones you get in trouble with share laughs with and should be able to trust with your greatest treasure, atleast that what I see on tv. The reason I think siblings are the best part of the house hold unit is because unfornatley I missed out on what I call the greatest part of family. I have 2 little brothers but their not apart of my real family. I am my mothers only child. I have gone through life experiencing family, getting in trouble and growing up all alone and if I could go back in time and have any thing in my life altered it would be to give me an older brother or sister. Family is a topic that is hard for me to discuss. I think my feelings toward the definition of family came about because part of family from what I hear were strong and beautiful people from great places but because their gone that peice of me i feel is missing. The other part of my family is disfunctional seperate and just a big ball of IDK. It wasnt always this way, everyone loved each other but like they say all great things must come to an end and that great thing most definatley did. One day ill have my own husband and children and with the grace of god hopefully I can sit back and say this is a real family.
